“Stuff a bag – help a child!” was the motto for the Amway One by One Campaign for Children volunteer opportunity during the annual Achievers recognition trip. Over a three-day period, Amway Global Independent Business Owners (IBOs) took a time-out from meetings, events, and training to stuff 2,500 bags that will be given to children who may not get a gift this holiday season.
The second and final session of Achievers has come to a close and the thousands of Independent Business Owners (IBOs) who earned this fabulous trip are on their way home.
As are the dozens of corporate staff who’ve spent days or weeks in Orlando planning meetings, setting up and staffing Expo exhibits, doing training, and managing the thousands of details that lead to an excellent event for our top achievers.
Thanks to the amazing Amway Global team who once again put together an unforgettable event for our IBOs and safe travels to all!

One of the best things about Achievers is not just seeing what's new in products and services, it's learning from other Independent Business Owners (IBOs). Because part of Achievers is about reward, the event is always held somewhere where there's lots to do and see. After all, all work and no play makes for a dull time in Orlando!
This year's Achievers is at the Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort, close to Epcot and near the Magic Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios and Disney Animal Kingdom.
As I recently returned from a Disney vacation, I thought I'd share my recommendations for a few of my favorite things to do at Disney.
1) The Rock N' Roller Coaster. This attraction at Disney Hollywood lets you join Aerosmith on a high speed ride to a gig in a limo through LA's notorious traffic. You ride in a stretch limo that tears out of an alley and goes from 0 to 60 MPH in less than three seconds. It's a blast. I usually avoid rollercoasters because the big dips and drops are more than I can handle, but this is a smooth ride with a couple of corkscrews but more thrills than chills.
2) Dinosaur. This Animal Kingdom attraction is so realistic, you really feel like you're interacting with dinosaurs and at the end, like you're going to become a dino's dinner. It's a bit much for younger kids but fun for everyone else. Others might cite Everest as a better Animal Kingdom attraction, but I wasn't about to give it a try.
3) Kilimanjaro Safari. The Animal Kingdom Safari can offer visual feast or famine — what animals you see depend on whether the animals are out and about or not. On my last visit we saw lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos and a whole assortment of exotic beasts. On my first visit, we saw some gazelles. I'd been told that first thing in the morning is the best time to view the animals but on our last visit we went around Noon and saw an amazing array of animals.
4) Soarin'. This is a new Epcot attraction that's an import from Disney's California Adventures park. In this ride you're lifted off the ground like you're in a hang glider and soar over Yosemite, the Golden Gate bridge, and other California spots. When you fly over kayakers or treetops, you involuntarily lift your feet because you feel like they're going to touch! It's that realistic, but unsettling for those who fear heights. Also check out the just-opened "Sum of all Thrills" attraction that lets you design and test your own thrill ride.
5) Visiting the Magic Kingdom? I love the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan's Magical Flight, Mickey's Philharmagic, and of course, the Dumbo ride. Are these new? No. But they're well done and always fun. If you can, visit the Magic Kingdom after dark and see how Cinderella's Castle is "iced" for the holidays.
Dining at Disney can be an adventure. Epcot has the best food at Disney (I highly recommend San Angel Inn for Mexican food; Chefs de France; Teppan Edo, a Japanese steakhouse; and Tangerine Cafe for Moroccan food.) The Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios and Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom are also excellent choices. I've yet to have a meal at the Magic Kingdom I would recommend, but I'm not fond of those turkey legs everyone seems to eat there.
Nearby Sea World and Universal Studios Orlando also offer unique experiences and lots of fun.

Think Orlando is toasty this time of year? The temperature at Achievers' host city is nothing compared to the new products and services that are heating up the Achievers Expo.
One of the busiest booths is the Amway Global app spot, where Independent Business Owners (IBOs) are checking out the brand new Amway app for iPhone and iPod Touch. They're downloading the app and finding out how to use this cool new tool to show and sell our products to customers, as well as keep tabs on their business wherever they go and whenever they want. The app is attracting crowds at Achievers and making headlines everywhere else!
The product booths and presentations are getting lots of traffic as well. The news from Nutrilite is the new D3 vitamin D product and the continuing excitement about the Nutrilite phytonutrient spectrum that teaches how to "color your diet" and how Nutrilite can help.
Although the new Legacy of Clean home and laundry care line has already launched, it's still generating buzz among our IBOs who are learning more about this planet-positive collection.
And Artistry has lines of IBOs checking out the new Artistry Balancing and Hydrating foundations to find their own perfect shade or get tips for advising their customers. These fabulous foundations launch in February so Achievers are getting the first peek at them.
Expo has always been my favorite part of Achievers because there's a constant buzz in the room and a lot of excitement and enthusiasm about products and programs. Between the one-on-one conversations, presentations, and training, it's one high-energy session.
It may be warm outside but Expo is always the hottest place to be at Achievers.

Achievers isn't just about business. It's also about using our success to help others.
This year the thousands of Amway Global Independent Business Owners attending our annual incentive event are helping make sure kids start the new year with all they need for school. There's always a lot of attention about what kids need to start school in August, but after the first bell rings we often forget that kids need to have those supplies refreshed and restocked throughout the year.
And that's where we're helping the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida provide backpacks and school supplies to the kids they serve. Achievers attendees are doing the "stuffing" and so far have outfitted backpacks with supplies for 1,400 kids.
